It’s Good to Question

This one is important to practice from time to time. I don’t know about you but I tend to like rules, at least at first. Then I want to question the rules and ask where I might be wrong.
Much like wanting to break rules, sometimes it’s good to ask questions about the rules. There’s so many things we are advised to do as designers but really the only way to understand why you should care about things is to ask questions. If we always follow blindly like lemming designers, we will lose out on the improv potential in our work.
As a designer, if you don’t like something that you are told to do, ask for the reasoning behind it. If you are the one making the rules for yourself, question why you need those rules. Questions can be a good thing. So ask.
